ABOUT KAZIMIR SEMENOVICH

Kazimir Semenovich was an engineer of the army of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The author of the book on pyrotechnics and artillery "The great art of artillery" which was published in Amsterdam in 1650. The book was extremely successful in European countries. Semenovich perfected pyrotechnics of his time: he developed a new design, invented delta wings that are still in use today. He proposed a prototype of a multistage rocket that was the basis of space shuttles. He propagated the ideas of humanism.

The book was published  in  Latin in 1650. Here you can find its English edition(1729). The book haven't been translated into Russian or Belаrussian. Oleg David Lisovsky have transleted some pages for the film. He is ready to make full translation if it is founds for publishing the book.

THE DRAWING OF THE MULTISTAGE
ROCKET

Drawing from the book "The Great Art of Artillery" is considered to be the first image of a multistage rocket. Probably, it was he who submitted the idea of "space trains" to Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, who directly refers to Semenovich in his works.
